Bathroom Vanities and Countertops in Ashburn

A new vanity changes both how a bathroom looks and how well it works at 7 a.m. Bathroom Brigade sizes the vanity to your bathroom and your storage, then handles the countertop, sink, faucet and plumbing connections that go with it.

Start with storage, not the catalog

It is tempting to choose a vanity by finish. A better starting point is what has to live in it and who uses it. A primary bath shared by two adults has different needs than a hall bath used by kids and guests. List what you store at the sink every day, what is backup stock, and where towels go now. That list tells you whether you need drawers, doors, open shelves, or a mix, and whether a single or double vanity earns its space.

The double vanity in the photo below is from one of our Ashburn projects. Backlit mirrors, a quartz countertop and stained wood cabinetry gave each person their own sink and storage without crowding the room.

What a vanity project includes

  • Vanity sizing for your bathroom's footprint and storage needs
  • Countertop material selection
  • Sink and faucet installation
  • Plumbing connections

Faucets are often Moen, one of the brands Bathroom Brigade installs. Whatever you choose, the sink and faucet should be picked before the countertop is finalized, because they set the cutouts and the faucet holes.

Measure the room around the vanity

A vanity that fits the wall can still fail the room. Before ordering, we check:

  • Door swings, including the bathroom door and any linen closet
  • Clearance to the toilet, tub and shower entry
  • Where the existing supply and drain lines come out of the wall
  • Outlets, switches and the mirror and light position
  • How the new vanity base meets the existing floor, if the floor is staying

That last item catches a lot of people. If the old vanity sat on the subfloor and the flooring was installed around it, a different-size vanity can expose a gap. Decide early whether flooring is in or out of scope.

Lighting belongs in the vanity plan

Changing the vanity width or moving the sink means the mirror and lights should move with it. Backlit mirrors, sconces and vanity bars all need power where the new layout puts them, and bathroom electrical has to meet wet-location requirements. Bathroom Brigade handles that work in the same project; our electrical and lighting page covers it.

When a vanity swap turns into a bigger project

If the vanity is the only thing failing, a replacement can be a contained job. If the floor tile is cracked, the shower leaks or the fan does not work, it is worth pricing those together so walls and floors are opened once. A written scope should make clear what is included and what is not.

Typical cost

Typical Northern Virginia reference ranges from Bathroom Brigade's published cost guide. They are a starting point for planning, not a quote. Your written scope sets the actual price for your Ashburn bathroom.

Does a vanity replacement include the countertop?▸

It can, and the scope should say so. Our vanity service includes countertop material selection along with sink and faucet installation and the plumbing connections.

Can I switch from a single to a double vanity?▸

Often, if the wall is long enough and the room still clears the door and toilet. A second sink means a second drain and supply, which we plan as part of the scope.

Will my floor need to be redone?▸

Sometimes. If the new vanity has a different footprint, the old floor may show where the previous cabinet sat. We check this before ordering so it does not become a surprise.

Can I supply my own vanity?▸

Ask during the consultation. The written scope will state which products are supplied by you and which by us, and how fit issues are handled.
